POA Board of Directors Meeting January 27, 2011

The Board of Directors of the Governors Village POA met on January 27, 2011. Minutes will be published once they are approved by the board.

The following meeting summary was prepared for the community by Communication Liaison, Rosemary McGee. Please note the pet waste resolution attachment mentioned in the summary will be released separately.

GVPOA Board Meeting

January 27, 2011

The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM. All board members present.

The minutes of the Nov. 18, 2011 General meeting and the Dec. 2, 2011 Board meeting were approved.

Officers for the coming year were elected.

  • Debbi Nichols, President
  • Chris Gamber, Vice-President
  • JoWatta, Secretary
  • Thomas Wilson, Treasurer

Liaisons to committees are:

  • ARB, Debbi Nichols
  • Communications, Rosemary McGee
  • Finance, Thomas Wilson
  • Grounds, Otto White
  • Safety, Terry OʼBrien
  • Social, Jo Watta
  • Recreation, Chris Gamber

Terry OʼBrien will be the liaison to the Gov. Lake landscaping committee (a temporary committee).

Pet waste policy discussed and resolution approved. (see attached)

Finance committee member Peter Fiorentino presented his research into re-financing our outstanding loan. Re-financing the loan with North State Bank at a 5.1% interest rate was approved unanimously. Peter was directed to proceed with finalizing the plan.

The pool deck expansion bids were discussed. Pool Pros bid was accepted by the board.

Floor tile in the pool house rest rooms needs replacing. Discussion tabled. Joel Strangis directed to seek more information.

Playground mulch bids were reviewed. APS bid accepted.

Mulch and pine straw application budget was reviewed and approved.

The grounds maintenance contract was tabled. Joel to ask for bid.

Committee Reports:

  • Communications committee reported that they were putting together a packet of community information for new homeowners.
  • Social committee meetings will begin in Feb.
