Updated May 5, 2011 to describe the type of services provided at this location.
Law enforcement service for our community is provided by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, which operates a North Chatham office located in the commercial area of Governors Village. Here is some helpful information should you need assistance.
In the event of an emergency, always call 911.
The direct line to the dispatcher for the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office is 919 542-2911 (all calls for service – non emergency).
There are four investigators working in the North Chatham office. This office may not always be staffed, but during normal business hours, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday, there is a good chance someone will be there.
This substation offers citizens a place to meet with the patrol deputies concerning reports or other investigations, without having to drive to Pittsboro. In addition, it houses the domestic violence unit. The office is not set up for fingerprinting.
Residents should feel free to call one of the investigators’ office numbers directly for assistance (see list below). Please note that if the call is answered, since the investigator is not being dispatched, the caller will have to describe what is going on.
