In this notice Rosemary McGee, POA Board Nominations Chair, addresses the nomination process for the open Board of Directors seat in Governors Village.
An unusual circumstance has occurred in regard to the nominations to the Governors Village Board of Directors. Dick Bobst, nominee for the Directors seat representing “The Village” has decided to retire from the Board. Dick has served with distinction for the last four years, giving generously of his time and wisdom to the community.
Due to the unusual situation the Board has decided to extend the nominations process for the Directors seat serving the Village. The village is bounded by Whippoorwill, with most of the cul-de-sacs running off of Fountain Drive. The term of office is three years. The Board meets every other month plus one or two other meetings for planning purposes throughout the year.
A owner of a Lot in the Village wishing to run for the Village seat on the Board of Directors must submit his or her name, contact information, and a short biography to Talis Management no later than 5 PM Monday, October 3 (email@example.com). The Nominations Committee and Board of Directors will review the names submitted, select and announce a candidate for the Village seat on Monday, October 10.
Any individual not nominated who wishes to be a candidate for the Village seat will have until 5 PM November 10 to submit a petition endorsing their candidacy with the signatures of at least 10% of the whole community’s lot owners (at least 51 lot owners, one signature per lot). The Board encourages qualified homeowners to consider this opportunity to get involved in the community and provide leadership in the board’s efforts to maintain and enhance the community. The election will be conducted at the Annual Meeting, to be held on Thursday, November 17, 2011.
