2011 Boo Fest Wrap-Up

In a letter to the Governors Village listserv today Social Committee Chair, Shannon Leslie, congratulated contest winners and thanked everyone responsible for making Boo Fest a success. The event was held October 29-30, 2011.

Neighbors, the rain certainly didn’t deter us from celebrating Halloween at our annual Boo Fest this year! What a great weekend of fun.

I’d like to announce the winners of our contests:

Scott Whitney was the winner of the chili cook-off, with his pot roast never-been-to-Texas chili. Congratulations!

And for the pumpkin decorating contest, congrats to each of these families:

  • The scariest pumpkin: Count Dracula by the Guy family
  • The most original: Pumpkin kabob-eating pumpkins by the Gay family
  • The silliest: Cowboy pumpkin by the Goldman family

And the other big winner this year was the Chatham County Family Crisis Center. We raised $225 in cash and checks, $200 in gift cards, and had 4 bags of donated items. On behalf of the Crisis Center, thank you all for your donations!

Special thanks to the rest of the Social Committee for another successful event. And to the Haunted Maze designers, builders and actors — you have outdone yourselves, big thanks to you all!
