Governors Village parents and grandparents, help teach our neighborhood children about birds. The 2012 Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) website has a special page for kids with activities and tips for identifying birds.
The 15th annual GBBC will take place Friday, February 17, through Monday, February 20. Please involve the kids and join your neighbors for the count! Plan to spend at least fifteen minutes watching and identifying as many birds as you can. Then record your results online.
You can count birds in your backyard, but also in fields, nature parks. How about Jordan Lake or Governors Lake? This is a fun way to introduce children to the world of birds.
