August 30, 2012: Article was updated with finalized details for trucks and event time.
Whether Governors Village residents are curious about the whole food truck craze or simply tired of chasing their favorite trucks around the Triangle, soon several more food truck operators will be serving in the Park.
The third of this summer’s popular Food Truck Rodeos will take place in the pool parking lot Saturday, September 8, 2012.
Featured trucks for that evening are Old North State BBQ and Smiles the Cupcake Truck. The scheduled time is 5:00-8:00 p.m.
On the afternoon of the event residents are asked to leave the parking spaces opposite from the playground open for the trucks to set up.
Governors Park resident Daniel Guy organized bringing in the food trucks this summer and he is now working with the Social Committee to formalize this as a POA-sponsored activity. Earlier visits by Baguettaboutit and The Parlour (Saturday, June 23) and Parlez-Vous Crepe (Sunday, August 12) brought raves from neighbors who attended.
A little later that evening Scott and Corinne Schillin of 20017 Fountain, Governors Village, will be hosting the kick-off the new 2012-2013 TGIS season. Residents may want to come early to visit the truck and then head to TGIS. These TGIS gatherings are a wonderful way to keep up with friends and to meet new members of our community.
