Third time was a charm for 2012 Boo Fest on Saturday, November 3, 2012. It was a beautiful autumn day for the Governors Village annual Halloween festival that was rescheduled twice due to inclement weather.
Hot dogs, decorated pumpkins and chili contests, costumes, games and an eerie haunted maze made for lots of shrieks, smiles and neighborly fun.
During Boo Fest donations were collected to benefit the Chatham County Family Crisis Center (FVRC). FVRC will celebrate 30 years of service with an evening of music at Fearrington Barn Sunday, November 11, 2012.
Boo Fest is sponsored by the Governors Villlage Social Committee and produced through the planning and hard work of committee members and many other residents. These community volunteers deserve a huge round of applause, including these chefs:
Communication committee photographer Ted Smith captured some magical moments from this year’s Boo Fest and also encountered some interesting visitors:
Governors Village was honored with a visit from two students from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They brought their owls and shared their knowledge of owls with everyone who visited. Unfortunately, Harry Potter could not attend as he is still mourning the loss of his owl, Hedwig.
