Governors Park resident Tim Watkins provided information and called for volunteers in a recent message to the Governors Village community Yahoo group recently. (Editor’s note: Since then Leslie H. Nelson, 20078 Long, 919-969-1433 has volunteered to be Village coordinator.)
Hello Neighbors – I am sending this message to provide additional details about the 12th Annual Governor’s Village Luminary Night to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, December 15th, with a rain date of Sunday, December 16th. Once again, Domicile Realty will be hosting a community event at the Bean and Barrell on Saturday evening starting at 6:30 PM. You are invited to stop by Domicile Realty from 2 to 5 PM on Saturday to pick up drink coupons for the event at the Bean.
For this event to be possible, we need coordinators for each area of our neighborhood. We are still in need of coordinators for Governors Village and Governors Townes. If you are interested in serving as the coordinator for one of these areas, please contact me either via email (watkinsnc at earthlink.net) or phone (919-969-9840). The coordinators for the other areas of our neighborhood are as follows:
Governors Lake – Karen Howard (12025 Wicker Drive)
Governors Forest – Ann White (10026 Hammock Bend)
Governors Park – Tim Watkins (30083 Britt)
Our area coordinators will be accepting donations and coordinating the event for their area. In addition to donations for the Ronald McDonald House, there are other ways you can help out with this event, including preparing luminaries, setting them out, lighting them, and/or cleaning up. If you are interested in helping out, please contact your area coordinator (for now, neighbors in the Village and Townes can contact me). Be on the look out for a flier in your mail in the next week or so with additional information.
Thanks very much and Happy Thanksgiving.
