There is an opportunity to support the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC at the Governors Village Annual Pool Party and Fundraiser, Saturday, August 24, 2013.
This week Chris Gamber issued a reminder that in conjunction with the Pool Party this Saturday, August 24, there will be a collection held for food and monetary donations to support the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC. As in the past one of our residents has come forward to offer to match the donated funds collected through this event.
The Food Bank serves Chatham and our other neighboring counties. As an example of their impact in Chatham County alone, in 2011-2012, the Food Bank distributed 659,977 pounds of food in Chatham County alone; provided food to 24,810 Chatham County households; and served 69,747 Chatham County individuals.
