The Governors Village Neighborhood Garden Club was founded in 2013 by several resident garden enthusiasts with an aim to create a fun, free, social activity for people to enjoy.
The inaugural “Garden Walk Tour,” held last May on a Saturday, was a huge success with seven beautiful gardens available to tour.
Neighbors and their guests had the opportunity to visit the lovely gardens on the Tour, and talk with the gracious hosts who answered questions, talked about their plants, and shared ideas for inspiration.
The “Garden Walk Tour” was then followed up by another new initiative organized by this plant-loving Club: the inaugural “Plant Swap,” which was held last October in the Governors Village pool parking lot.
Planning for the “2014 Garden Walk Tour” has been a pleasure to organize, and some of your Governors Village neighbors’ unique and beautiful gardens will be on display for your viewing enjoyment on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 1pm-5pm [rain or shine].
Please join us for the 2nd Annual Garden Walk Tour! Save the date on your calendar! Bring your friends, bring your family! It’s free! And if you are interested in showcasing your garden for this year’s event, or for 2015, please let us know. This is not a competition, but rather an opportunity to socialize with your neighbors and friends throughout Governors Village. We look forward to seeing you in April!
