A mid-afternoon downpour may have got the 2014 Governors Village Pool Party off to a slower start than usual, but the fun and festivities soon caught up. Dark clouds dissipated, the sun shone and cheerful residents gathered for the community’s annual tribute to the end of summer.
Just inside the pool entrance members of the Social Committee greeted everyone at the check-in table. Nearby, food and monetary donations were collected on behalf of the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
It was a good evening for swimming and enjoying some time with friends.
Friendly staff from the local Bean and Barrel grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and served a delicious array of side dishes.
Neighbors brought an assortment of enticing desserts to share.
Thanks to all the Governors Village Social Committee members and other volunteers who helped organize another great community event.
