The annual Governors Village Easter Egg Hunt was held on March 28, 2015. The day while chilly, was nice with lots of sun. There were games with the Easter Bunny who Bunny Hopped all over. We are extremely fortunate to have a homeowner who is a professional librarian, Mary Shaver. She delighted both children and adults with her story telling. Some of the children participated in the telling of one of the tales. Deputies from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office held a Bicycle Rodeo demonstrating proper equipment and road safety rules. Children were given helmets and shown how to correctly wear them to provide the most protection.
The Easter Egg hunt came next with eggs scattered throughout the meadow park. The children collected as many as they could and turned them in for candy and cupcakes. The selection of cupcakes was very enticing making it difficult to choose. After all had their fill, they returned home with happy memories.
Our thanks to the members of the Social Committee for the time and energy they put into this successful event. We also must thank the Easter Bunny for his (or her?) taking part in this occasion. We thank the Deputies from The Sheriff’s Office too.
