Tim Watkins recently announced details for the 16th Annual Governors Village Luminary Night. Volunteers are needed to help make the evening a success.
Hello Neighbors – I am sending this message to provide additional details about the 16th Annual Governors Village Luminary Night to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill. For the past 15 years our neighborhood has participated in this event and come together along with other communities across the Chapel Hill area to support the families who rely on the Ronald McDonald House for comfort and compassion during the most difficult times of their lives.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, December 10th, with a rain date of Sunday, December 11th. For this event to be possible, we need coordinators for each area of our neighborhood. We are still in need of coordinators for Governors Lake, Governors Village, and Governors Townes. If you are interested in serving as the coordinator for one of these areas, please contact me either via email or phone. The coordinators for the other areas of our neighborhood are as follows:
Governor’s Forest – Ann White (10026 Hammock Bend)
Governor’s Park – Tim Watkins (30077 Britt)
Our area coordinators will be accepting donations and coordinating the event for their area. In addition to donations for the Ronald McDonald House, there are other ways you can help out with this event, including preparing luminaries, setting them out, lighting them, and/or cleaning up. If you are interested in helping out, please contact your area coordinator (for now, neighbors in the Lake, Village and Townes can contact me). Be on the look out for a flier in your mail in the next week or so with additional information.
Thanks very much and Happy Thanksgiving.
