North Chatham Volunteer Fire Department Pancake Breakfast Recap

The Governors Village Firemen’s Pancake Breakfast was held on Saturday, May 7, 2022. This day also celebrated the opening of the pool.

It was a great day to be out, enjoying a freshly made breakfast while supporting our Volunteer Fire Department. The children were given Fireman Hats and became honorary fire deputies.

Firemen and Firewomen were present to explain their vehicles and to serve breakfast. Breakfast was pancakes, sausages, fruit, juice, and coffee. The pancakes were better than Ihop and there was plenty to go around.

The pool was available to all who ventured into the water. The children had no fear, but the water may have been too cool for the adults. Earlier, one woman was in the water doing her laps.

We need to thank the participating merchants who contributed to this fundraiser and the Fire Department volunteers for serving breakfast and helping in other ways. This is over and above protecting our lives and property.

Most of all we must thank Sarah Conte, and Social Committee members: Abbie Finneran, Mary Elizabeth Huffines and Michelle Orvis. We also thank the community volunteers who pitched in.

All generously gave their time and talents doing the challenging tasks of planning, organizing, and overseeing this event. It was a great success and will be even better next year.
