2013 Eighth Annual Firemen’s Pancake Breakfast, 5K Run/Walk, and Kids Triathlon

This past weekend, Governors Village residents kicked off the summer big time! In addition to celebrating the pool opening for the season, community members participated in the Eighth Annual Firemen’s Pancake Breakfast, 5K Run/Walk, and Kids Triathlon. Thanks to the Social Committee and all residents and participants for making the weekend a great success!

The 8th Annual Firemen’s Pancake Breakfast and 5K Run/Walk fundraiser will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013, opening day for the Governors Village pool. Sponsored by the Social Committee, this fun-filled morning includes a 5K Run/Walk through the neighborhoods, a pancake breakfast and a Kids Triathlon.

This social event has become a Governors Village tradition that brings neighbors together to benefit the Chatham County Fire Department. With the money raised last year the firemen were able to purchase an additional defibrillator and gas detector. Again this year firemen will be on site with fire trucks, a huge ladder and other equipment and will even serve breakfast!

Schedule

7:30 5K Race Registration at the pool
8:15 5K Race through the neighborhoods
9:00 Pancake Breakfast at the pool
10:00 Kids Triathlon (Bike helmet required)

Volunteers Needed

Organizing an event like this is quite an undertaking. Social Committee members are working very hard, but could use some help. Please consider giving a little of your time to help make this year’s event a huge success.

To volunteer email Dominique Gignac (dgignac at earthlink.net).
