2016 BooFest Governors Village

2016 BooFest Governors Village

With pumpkins, costumes, games and maze, food and shrieks of laughter, joy was in the air on Saturday afternoon as Governors Village celebrated 2016 BooFest, the community’s traditional Halloween festival.

Clear blue skies and unseasonably warm weather formed a gentle backdrop as families and friends arriving at Governors Park were swept up in an atmosphere of color and fun.

Games

Old-fashioned games sparked children’s imagination. Marching to clips of Monster Mash, kids eagerly joined a cakewalk circle for a chances to win goody bag prizes.

Cakewalk leader Marney Whitney kept the kids moving.

Face Painting

As in previous years a professional from Paint Savvy attracted lots of eager faces and onlookers.

Before taking their chances navigating the Halloween maze, neighborhood daredevils had to make it past sentry Adam Novak.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween Trick-or-Treating Schedule

Governors Village hosts the Halloween trick-or-treating on Halloween night, regardless of the night of the week. The Governors Village Social Committee made this decision, and the Board endorsed that decision in the early stages of the neighborhood’s development. The Boo Fest, if held, is prior to Halloween, and the residents are notified prior to the event.
