Beautiful weather and excited children marked the annual Governors Village Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30, 2013. The Easter Bunny’s guest appearance was a highlight of the event  as he hopped from here to there, encouraging the kids (and some adults) to join him.

Other features of the afternoon fun were story time, games and the egg hunt, followed by cupcakes provided by the Social Committee. The Social Committee deserves much applause and thanks for putting together this special activity for the community.

Committees: A Chance to Become Involved

At Thursday’s Annual Property Owners Meeting attendees received handouts describing the functions of the four main Governors Village committees: communication, grounds, recreation and social.  Residents are encouraged to become familiar with each committee and to consider joining one or more!  Share your ideas and talents to keep improving our community.  All committees can use your help and in particular there are two immediate opportunities.

  1. Now that the Lake pond is owned by Governors Village POA, board member Chris Gamber is organizing a committee to advise the board on improvements to the area. Contact Chris <cgamber at hotmail.com> to volunteer.
  2. Governors Lake also has a vacancy for Grounds Committee chair.  To inquire contact Chris <cgamber at hotmail.com> or Governors Village Grounds Steering Committee chair Ann Cowen <anncowen24 at bellsouth.net>.
