Santa Is Coming Saturday December 10, 2016

DSC_1327SANTA’S VISIT TO GOVERNORS VILLAGE IS THIS SATURDAY!

Santa will be hitching a ride on the firetruck through Governors Village this Saturday (December 10th) at approximately 2:30pm. He will be stopping in each neighborhood at the following locations in this order:
The Forest – at the corner of Raintreebend and the Forest entrance.
The Village – at the corner of Fountain Park and Long.
The original Townhouses – at David Stone & Loop Park (small park in the middle of the original towns).
The Lake – at Wicker at the access road down to the townhouses
The Park – at the pool parking lot.

It is very important that children stay safely on the sidewalks until the firetruck comes to a complete stop in each neighborhood. The firetruck doesn’t stop as quickly as Santa’s reindeers!

While Santa is on his ride, some of the neighborhoods will be preparing the luminaries to benefit The Ronald McDonald House for lighting that evening. Please come out and help the volunteers fill and placing the luminaries throughout your neighborhoods while waiting for Santa to arrive.

If there is inclement weather on Saturday the 10th , the Luminaries will be celebrated on Sunday the 11th. Unfortunately Santa will not be able to attend since he has other obligations that day.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Governors Village December 13, 2014

Santa will be arriving in Governors Village in conjunction with the Lighting of the Luminaries on Saturday, December 13, 2014, starting in the Forest at approximately 2:45pm.  He is hitching a ride on a fire truck and driving through each neighborhood, stopping to hand out candy canes at the following locations and order:

Forest – at the entrance and Raintree Bend

Village – at the intersection of Fountain Park and Long

Towns – at the intersection of Loop Park and David Stone

Lake – at the top of Wicker and the access road

Park – at the pool parking lot

Parents please be sure your children stay on the sidewalks while the fire truck is in motion.  This is very important.  Trucks don’t fly like reindeer.

While you are out enjoying Santa’s visit, please consider helping your neighborhood coordinator setup the luminaries. Many hands make light work.

The Governors Village Social Committee will also provide hot chocolate at Santa’s stops.

Please be fire safe throughout the year especially during the holidays, and know that Santa and the Chatham County firefighters wish you and yours the very happiest of holidays.

Sponsored by the Governors Village Social Committee.

Santa To Visit Governors Village December 14, 2013

To promote holiday fire safety and to help celebrate the community’s Luminary Night event, Santa will travel through Governors Village neighborhoods atop a Chatham Country Fire Truck  on Saturday, December 14, 2013.

Santa will bring seasonal merriment (and candy) beginning around 2:00 p.m. Families out enjoying Santa are encouraged to assist their neighborhood coordinators in preparing and setting up luminary bags for lighting later that evening. See the attached flyer for details on Santa’s visit.

Now in its 13th year the Annual Governors Village Luminary Night benefits the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill. Domicile Realty again will be hosting a community event at the Bean and Barrel as part of Luminary Night.
