Can I hold a yard sale? I am overrun with “treasures” I would like to sell.

Our Governors Village covenants do not allow individual yard sales; however, the POA has authorized an annual community-wide yard sale. This event is held for all residents in the spring at the pool parking lot in Governors Park. Announcements for this and other community events are posted on the website and the listserv.

Who do I contact to refill the doggie stations?

Bags are supplied for pet owners to use in picking up after their pets. The grounds lawn and maintenance company services the doggie stations weekly (Wednesday).    Please contact Talis Management Company if this schedule is not being observed.

When is trick-or-treating when Halloween occurs on a weekend?

Governors Village hosts the Halloween trick-or-treating on Halloween night, regardless of the night of the week. The Governors Village Social Committee made this decision, and the Board endorsed that decision in the early stages of the neighborhood’s development.

Who should I contact when the sewer lift station alarm sounds? Should I call Talis?

The lift stations do not fall under the responsibility of community management company, Talis.  Rather the lift stations in our neighborhoods are owned and managed by the utility provider, Aqua North Carolina. For best results contact Aqua North Carolina directly.  As of December 2010, the customer service telephone number is: 877-WTR-AQUA or 877.987.2782

This number can be used for anything customer service related (bills, service issues, emergencies, etc.). During the work day it goes to Aqua’s call center and after hours it gets transferred to an answering service. The answering service only deals with emergencies after hours. There is a sign on the lift station with a phone number on it also. It may be different than the one above but they both act the same.
