Governors Village Social Committee sponsors four major activities for homeowners each year and a monthly meet-and greet.
- OktoberWeen – OktoberWeen is a Halloween-themed party featuring food, games and overnight campout. (OktoberWeen replaced BooFest in 2014.)
- Easter Egg Hunt – Children of all ages may participate in the annual egg hunt held in Meadow Park.
- Firemen’s Pancake Breakfast and 5K Run/Walk and Kids Triathlon – Governors Village sponsors a charity benefit for the North Chatham County firefighters that coincides with the opening of the pool in the spring.
- Pool Party – This is a catered meal during the summer for all Governors Village residents. In the past this has been a hotdog, hamburger cookout prepared by a local neighborhood eatery or a BBQ supper featuring pork barbecue, chicken, and all the trimmings.
- TGIF/TGIS – Thank Goodness It’s Friday or Saturday is a monthly party in a neighbor’s home to meet new neighbors and visit with friends. This is usually an adults-only activity (kid-friendly at the discretion of the hosts) that runs from Fall through Spring.
