Effective June 1, 2023, Governors Village has a new management company, Community Focus of NC. We expect much improved service with a fulltime property manager devoted solely to Governors Village. Example: the property manager will have an office in the community, with “office hours” for guaranteed member access.
To make this change possible, POA dues will increase by 5% effective July 1, 2023 (still modest, going from $115.42/month to $121.19/month). Dues are payable semi-annually as usual, with the next payment of $727.12 due July 1, 2023. Full details regarding payments and contact information will be arriving later this week from Community Focus of NC.
Background: If you refer to minutes of the POA board meetings over the past several months (GovernorsVillage.org), you can see longstanding efforts to improve our community. A change to a fulltime manager who is dedicated to serving Governors Village was determined to be our best opportunity for long-term satisfaction. The cost is slightly higher than with the previous provider, but we believe the results will be easy to appreciate.
The “transition period” will require patience on everyone’s part, but we look forward to seeing immediate improvements. The POA Board of Directors has committed only to a 1-year trial period, and your feedback will help determine ongoing decisions.
You will see a letter from Community Focus of NC in the next few days providing an introduction and more information.
Thanks for making Governors Village a great place to live,
